Membership benefits and requirements
Membership in the Jefferson Club is open to alumni of the University of Missouri, friends and MU-affiliated nonprofit organizations. Joint memberships are available for spouses.
Gifts
Your eligibility for membership is established through gifts or pledges to any academic area or university program. You can designate your gifts or make them unrestricted so the university or school/college/program can use the funds where they are needed most.
Benefits of membership
Jefferson Club members find satisfaction in knowing they are helping shape the University of Missouri for today's scholars and tomorrow's leaders. We invite members to special campus and regional Jefferson Club events, recognize them in university honor rolls and send publications with information produced just for Jefferson Club members. Members also receive a Jefferson Club lapel pin, adorned by giving level with these appropriate gemstones:
- Member - amethyst
- Fellow - citron
- Distinguished Fellow - sapphire
- Very Distinguished Fellow - ruby
- Diplomat - emerald
- Ambassador - diamond
Members may elect to receive a commemorative Jefferson Club plate as well, symbolizing the legacy of excellence made possible by their gifts.
Members
Membership is open to individuals who contribute or pledge one of the amounts listed below, extending through no more than 10 years. All your previous gifts to the University of Missouri and some company matching gifts count toward membership. Irrevocable trusts are included as outright gifts or pledges.

Faculty and Staff Membership
Membership is open to MU benefit-eligible faculty or staff members who contribute or pledge one of the amounts listed below, over a period no longer than 10 years. All your prior gifts to the University of Missouri and company matching gifts count toward membership. Irrevocable trusts are included as an outright gift or pledge.

Other Memberships with School/College/Program Giving Societies
If your gifts to the university support a particular school, college or program within MU that has its own giving society, you may be offered membership in that organization as well. If you join another giving society at the $25,000 level first, membership in the Jefferson Club is automatic, unless indicated otherwise.
