Bond Life Sciences Center

The Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center’s 35 faculty investigators from six life sciences schools might never meet on the usual college campus. But in the Bond LSC they can form innovative, collaborative teams to tackle problems in human and animal health, aging, plant biology, and agriculture. Engineers work with clinicians, plant scientists with biomedical researchers, lab researchers with field biologists, and computer experts with biologists to understand the bases of cancer, neuromuscular diseases, Alzheimer’s, HIV/AIDS, obesity, plant health, and agriculture. Their efforts have profound social and economic impact potential for Missouri, the nation and the world.

Public outreach and education also are key components of the center's mission. The Bond LSC is favorite venue for visits by public officials, business leaders and interested citizens and students, and provides a unique opportunity to promote public understanding of key scientific issues of our day. We are also home to many science events open to the public, such as Missouri Life Sciences Week, Saturday Morning Science, and the annual Life Sciences and Society Symposium.

This is a great time to help improve our lives through scientific inquiry and education, and the Bond Life Sciences Center leads the way.
